Job Vacancy - Warehouse Manager
Our warehouse manager plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth operation across multiple retail sites by maintaining stock levels and managing deliveries from our warehouse. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
Key responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Management:
-
Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.

Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

Optimise warehouse layout and workflow to maximise space utilisation and operational flow.
-
Implement and manage a Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring data accuracy and system efficiency.

Ensure all inbound and outbound logistics are coordinated effectively to meet delivery schedules.

Inventory Management & Accuracy:
-
Establish and maintain robust inventory control procedures, including regular cycle counts and full stocktakes.

Minimise inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, and damage.
-
Implement strategies for efficient stock rotation (e.g., FIFO) and management of slow-moving or obsolete stock.

Ensure accurate and timely data entry into inventory management systems.

Work Health and Safety:
-
Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures in line with Australian legislation.

Conduct regular risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement control measures to ensure a safe working environment.

Ensure all equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is regularly inspected, maintained, and operated safely by trained personnel.

Investigate and report all WHS incidents, near misses, and injuries, implementing corrective actions.

Provide ongoing WHS training and ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols.

Team Leadership & People Management:

Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop warehouse staff (e.g., team leaders, pickers, packers, forklift operators, delivery drivers).

Manage staff rosters, schedules, and leave to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.

Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues.

Foster a positive, productive, and respectful work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

Handle disciplinary matters and conflict resolution professionally.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

Develop and manage the warehouse budget, monitoring expenses related to labor, equipment, maintenance, and utilities.

Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs without compromising safety or efficiency.
-
Track and report on KPIs such as cost per unit, productivity rates, and error rates.

Equipment & Facilities Management:

Oversee the maintenance and repair of all warehouse equipment, machinery, and vehicles.

Ensure the warehouse facility is clean, organised, and maintained to high operational standards.

Manage security of the warehouse and its contents.
-

Compliance & Regulations:
-
Ensure all warehouse operations comply with relevant Australian laws and regulations, including transport, dangerous goods, and environmental standards.

Maintain necessary licenses and certifications for the warehouse and its equipment (e.g., forklift licenses for operators).

Stakeholder Communication:

Liaise effectively with internal departments (e.g., sales, procurement, customer service, transport) and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers, transport companies, clients).

Address and resolve any operational issues or customer complaints related to warehousing.
